Hi, I’m Lu Wee.

Thanks for dropping by Entrepreneur Campfire!

Entrepreneur Campfire is where I share my methods, tips, and strategies in my journey of building multiple profitable businesses.

From Engineer to Building Businesses: My Journey

Up until the age of 20, I never thought about starting a business.

In fact, I wanted to be a professor who sometimes volunteered for non-profits.

But that all changed when one day my brother passed me a copy of Adam Khoo’s, The Secret of Young Millionaires.

The book changed everything I thought I knew about money.

I used to think money was evil. Wrong.

I was wrong.

Money is neutral. It’s what you do with the money that makes it good or bad.

I used to think that thinking about making profits made you a bad person.

Wrong again.

Making profits by providing value is one of the best things you can do. Profits can even motivate you to do better and reach higher goals.

It can even push you to give your best to your customers.

I used to think that wanting to make a lot of money would take away your freedom.

Yup, I was wrong again.

Though you can work too hard on your business, but that’s a choice. You can work for your business, or you can make your business work for you.

Then on, I read every book I could get my hands on to learn.

I even spent over US$10,000 on courses to find out more about how to start a business.

Today: 7 Failures + 2 Successes Later

No theory from books or courses could prepare me for the failures and challenges to come.

I tried and failed more than five times before I had my first taste of ‘success’ – that is, seeing profits in not four, but five figures.

In mid-2012, together with my brother, we sold a couple hundred power banks for a neat four figure profit.

I was motivated!

I started to see that if I could repeat the process, I could really make a good living by starting businesses.

Since then, I learned everything I could about the A to Z of business. Marketing, Sales, Customer Service – you name it.

I can’t say I’m perfect in all of them, but I continue to push myself everyday 😉

I tested my ideas and knowledge by starting businesses on the side while I was still working an engineer.

I finally left my job as an engineer in 2015 to focus on a few businesses that were taking off.

My Personal Goal

While many people may be happy to have one good stream of income, I am not.

My goal is to create more than one profitable business. Why?

Why?

Having more than one income stream is the best way to hedge yourself against changes.

If you have just one job, you lose everything when you lose that job. But what if you had two? Three? Eleven?

You become almost untouchable.

This is one of the reasons why you will find a variety of topics being covered on Entrepreneur Campfire.

They reflect what I am interested in or what I think may be profitable.

My Goal with Entrepreneur Campfire

One of the most challenging things I experienced when I first started out was the lack of resources about starting a business in our region, Southeast Asia.

While there are millions of articles and guides about starting a business in the US, there were very few high-quality ones here.

With Entrepreneur Campfire, I want to teach you everything I know about starting a business.

Whether you want to start a business online or offline, I will do my best to teach you how you can do that.

I’m looking forward to an awesome 2017 :D
